Removable partial dentures have been designed to replace the natural teeth in your mouth which may have been missing or extracted; this can be applied for one or more teeth. Partial dentures fill the space of missing teeth, preserving the location of natural teeth, and rehabilitating one’s image and function.
There are several ways partial dentures can be made, the most common material used is cast metal and acrylic. It is very durable and adapts well to the teeth and gums. During your appointment, we will discuss which partial denture and which material would best fit your needs. The quality of denture is reflected in the wear and tear, its look, and comfort of the dentures in the mouth.
A few visits to the dental office are required in order to get fitted for partial dentures. In your initial assessment impressions and measurements are taken prior to fabricating the denture. Once the denture is started to be made you will try it a few times and adjustments will be made at this time to ensure that it fits nicely and securely in the mouth when finished.
For the most part, a denture can be repaired within a short time frame, however this will depend on the type of repair or issue that you are experiencing. The dentist will assess the situation as well as the options available. We will advise if the denture can be salvaged or would require a replacement.
